Wellness Programs & Team Building
I work with businesses and public agencies and their employees to make healthy, delicious, home-cooked food a regular part of life. Simple tricks and a bit of confidence can turn into new habits that get you hooked on fresh, seasonal produce and the joy of cooking it. If your workplace has such a program and is interested in cooking classes, demonstrations or presentations there is more information here or get in touch. I presently teach in Legacy Health Systems’ Live It! weight management program as well as Clackamas County’s Wellness Program and Columbia Sportswear and Organically Grown Company’s wellness programs.
Do you need a fun, educational team building activity for your employees? Cooking and eating together and learning new skills and habits can be an inspiring part of annual planning retreats or as a thank-you to hard-working staff.
Our team has been to Katherine’s cozy kitchen several times for team building, cooking and lots of great conversation. Katherine has a welcoming environment that lets you easily shed your work day mindset and step right into the yummy goodness of her food and her warm and easy-going teaching style. Our team has shared stories and laughter while we learned how to take everyday items that we all have in our fridge and put them to new and tasty uses. I would recommend Katherine to any team!

Many of my wellness program clients complement Cook With What You Have’s face-to-face programs with subscriptions for their employees to the online Seasonal Recipe Collection. This resource enables users to cook more, eat well and spend less.
I work with a wide variety of organizations, teaching customized classes, developing recipes and curricula and doing presentations around simple everyday meals. Partners and clients include Head Start, Portland Farmers Market, Oregon Food Bank, and Growing Gardens.
I also teach private classes, either in your home or mine. If you have a group of friends/family/colleagues who would like to do a class together (with a special menu or one of my choosing) we can schedule something to fit your needs. Have a group of friends or family with whom you’d like to take a private class?
Overwhelmed at the end of the day by what to make for dinner or how much restaurant meals or prepared foods are costing you? I offer customized meal planning that helps you cook at home regularly with plenty of food for lunches or the freezer, reduces your food budget, and gets more fresh vegetables on your plate. Need help stocking your pantry/kitchen? I can help you get set up and systematize your restocking, list-making, and sourcing/shopping.
